Headline: Two Florida Girls Go See a Florida Girl In a Play Called Florida Girls

A couple of weeks ago, Ashley and I had the immense privilege of seeing fellow Stage Mom, Marci Duncan, KILL. IT. in the one-woman show Florida Girls, at Emerald Coast Theatre Company. Florida Girls is authored by local playwright, Nancy Hasty, takes place in Crestview, Florida circa 1965, and focuses on the upheaval in a middle-class family when two sisters compete in a high-school beauty pageant. 

This one-woman show was masterfully navigated by Marci; for nearly 90 minutes, she seamlessly flowed in and out of 12 (yes, TWELVE) different characters. And you know what? I didn’t get confused ONCE. Not only was this a feat, but Marci brought heartfelt passion, specificity, and authenticity to each and every role.
